Dr. Ehtisham Abidi

Dr. Abidi is President and CEO of Pharmaceutics International, Inc. (Pii). Pii focuses on the development of formulations and delivery systems for solid, liquid and semi-solid dosage form pharmaceutical products for generic companies and client provided New Chemical Entity (NCE) compounds.
Dr. Abidi also heads the Abidi Foundation which conducts philanthropic work throughout the globe.
Dr. Abidi earned his B.S. in Pharmacy from Karachi University, Pakistan and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Mississippi.

Dr. Asad Sadiq
New Jersey
Dr. Asad Sadiq, DDS, is a practicing dentist and holds memberships in the American Dental Association and The Academy of General Dentistry and Southern Dental Society. Dr. Sadiq, trained in implant technology at NYU, has 20 years of dental experience
He is the US representative of Tanzeem ul Makateb, an Institution based in Lucknow, India that administers over one thousand Islamic Schools throughout India.
He is the President of the Shia Assn of North America and served as the UMAA President from 2007 to 2010. He also Chaired the Muslim Foundation Inc. from 2010 t0 2016.
He is instrumental in arranging Muharram, Safar and Ramadan programs at Baitul Qaem and Masjed e Ali.

Sr. Perveen Kazmi
New Jersey

 

Ms. Perveen Kazmi migrated with her family to the New Jersey/New York area in the mid sixties. She has been an UMAA member since it’s inception as well as an UMAA Board Member. She is the chair of the UMAA Matrimonial committee.
She joined L’Oreal in 2006 and is an Associate Principal Scientist, in the Clinical Safety Evaluation team in Safety, Regulatory and Claim group. Prior to that, she worked for over 20 years at Colgate-Palmolive, as a Senior Technical Associate in the Dermal Clinical Research Group within the Product Safety Department.
She obtained a B.S degree in Biology with a minor in Microbiology from Douglass College at Rutgers University. While at Colgate-Palmolive she participated in working groups promoting career building opportunities for women of Asian descents.

Br. Mustafa Abdi

Mustafa Abdi, who has a Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and MBA in finance from NJIT, brings over 18 years of experience in financial analysis, business development, and data analysis of diverse industries. He has held key positions for AT&T and Telephone Systems International. Mustafa worked for TSI in Afghanistan where he helped set up a television network, GSM network, and a security company. He also delved into a few other business before settling into his current business as the co-founder of Oripha, an IT company. Mustafa also serves on the board of Muslims for Peace, Stand With Dignity, and The Children's Home Society of New Jersey, Board of Trustees. His involvement in each organization is helping foster an environment of tolerance and understanding while helping individuals in the community.

Dr. Pervez Shah
Maryland

Dr. Parvez Shah, MD is an urologist and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Doctors Community Hospital and Laurel Regional Hospital. He received his medical degree from Dow Medical College and has been in practice for 53 years. Dr. Shah is a founding member of UMAA and is a Trustee at the Idara-e-Jaferia mosque in Maryland.

Dr. Kashif Haider
Kentucky

Dr. Kashif Haider is a gastroenterologist and is currently employed by Hardin Memorial Health. He has lived in Kentucky for over 20 years with his wife, Tehmina, and four children: Reza, Hassan, Ameer Abbas and Fiza.
He currently serves on the Board of Al Zahra Islamic Center in Louisville, KY and Imam Al Hujja Hospital Karbala, Iraq.

Dr. Azmat Husain

Dr. Azmat serves as the Regional Director of Operations at CEP America which is has one of the largest portfolios of Emergency Rooms in the nation. He also serves as Chairman of the Emergency Department at Howard University in Washington, DC and St. Mary's in Passaic, NJ.
He is a founding member of Global Caregivers International which establishes urgent care centers in underserved regions around the globe and is an active member of the Idara-e-Jaferia mosque and has served multiple terms as a Director.

Dr. Iqbal Jafri
New Jersey
Dr. Jafri is a Clinical Professor in the departments of PM&R and Anesthesia at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

He is also a Founding Director of Pain Medicine Dept. at the JFK Johnson Rehab institute and the Medical Director at the Center for Cardio pulmonary Rehab at JFK JRI in Edison, NJ.

Attending physician of Rehab Med Dept. JFK Medical center and the Consultant Pain and Rehab at
Roosevelt care center.

His Community service includes being a founding Director of UMAA and a Director at the Free Clinic of APPNA, NJ as well as a Director and Vice Chairman of
Masjid e Ali.

Br. Khushaid Kazmi is an Operations expert and Facility Management executive. He has over 19 years in the Pharmaceutical industry and served in a variety of roles and capacities garnering him a wide range of skills and abilities he brings to his community service. He has served multiple terms as a Director at UMAA and is an active member at the Idara-e-Jaferia mosque in Maryland.

Shabir Mukhtar has a long history of community service and is currently a team member with Imam Husain TV in Karbala, the New York City annual commemoration march ("juloos"), Imam Sajjad Orphanage in Damascus and Al-Fatimah Islamic Center. He has also chaperoned pilgrimage groups to Iran and Iraq for over seven years.
Professionally, Shabir holds an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice and has extensive experience in the auto industry including ownership stakes in wholesale import/export businesses, repair, dealerships and insurance agencies.

Br. Kumail Razvi
Illinois

Kumail Razvi has a robust history in community service as he is a founding and current Board Member of Hadi School of Excellence, which is a full-time Islamic Private School in the Chicago area. Kumail is notably identified with activism efforts towards the rebuilding of Jannat-ul-Baqee. He is associated with various Chicago-based organizations and is involved in various community projects.
Professionally, Kumail has expertise in Education and Technology. He has a Masters of Science Degree in Electronic Commerce. Kumail has been employed at Motorola Solutions for over 18 years and is currently a Senior Manager with functional ownership of the nationwide wireless broadband network dedicated to public safety. For over nine years, Kumail has also been a Lecturer at DePaul University teaching various computer science courses.

Br. Asghar Rizvi
California

Asghar Rizvi is a social activist, community director and visionary. He is the founding member of several community projects, including past President and current member of the Board of Directors for the Zainabia Islamic Society and the Los Angeles Jaloos(commemorative march) Committee. He is the Head and Chief Advisor of a consortium of social activists that have produced projects like islamiclibrary.com and muslimconverts.org. He is a councilor in the Shia Muslim Council of Southern California and a member of the Muslim Burial Organization of Los Angeles. He also directs the local Southern California chapter of the organization for the rebuilding of Jannat-ul-Baqee. He has recently launched Islamic Ziyarat, a professional tour company that donates 33% of its earnings to the educational projects of local non-profit charitable organizations. Asghar Rizvi has a passion for working on issues that encourage the unity of the Muslim community.
Professionally, Asghar has a Masters degree in Economics and Electrical Engineering. For over 25 years, he has been running his own local businesses. He has been a resident of Los Angeles for 28 years with his wife Ambreen, and three children Ali, 19, Namoos, 18 and Insia, 16.

Dr. Ali Shakibai is an internist in Manchester, Connecticut and is affiliated with Manchester Memorial Hospital. He received his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

Zaffar Jaffri is a prominent community organizer and activist with a long history of community service in the greater New York/New Jersey area.
